5 савета да остану мршави на фестивалу
Festivals don't have to be a dietary disaster. With these easy tricks you can stay on track and even lose weight, too! Skills.
When we return from festivals, with our blood cider levels still sky high, we're more likely to think about how much sleep we've lost rather than weight. But according to a study by gym chain Fitness First, the average female festival-goer will burn 7,200 calories over a muddy weekend, thanks to approximately eight hours of dancing each day. That's the equivalent of running up and down stairs for seven hours - but a whole lot more fun.
This means that coupled with the average woman's daily recommendation of 2,000 cals, you can go to a festival and tone up, stay healthy and even lose weight - without leaving the dance stage! Here's how:
1 Make sure you stay hydrated
Of course you’re going to want to enjoy your favourite tipple but keeping a bottle of water on you at all times means that you can take a sip between bar visits or every time you’re having a bit of an alcohol break. This will ensure you drink less of the bad, high-cal drinks, plus help ease that hangover the next morning. Check out which drinksto order at the beer tent to keep your calorie intake as low as possible!
2 Get your vitamins
Just because you’re at a festival doesn't give you an excuse to neglect your vital vitamins. Think you can't eat healthy at a festival? Think again. Festivals are full of places to purchase organic fruit-topped frozen yoghurt, freshly-pressed juices and healthy smoothies- the perfect way to stay topped up.
3 Be informed
Whilst it’s tempting to grab the nearest burger, processed meats and carbs will only keep you full for so long - so you'll end up spending more money and having less energy to dance. Choose a breakfastwith complex carbs and slow release energy like porridge and berries or a wholemeal bagel. For lunch, opt for iron rich foods, such as a steak sandwich or pulses like humous and couscous, for long lasting energy.
4 Always be at the ready
Queues are always long and food is usually totally overpriced, so adding a few healthy snacksinto your backpack is a win-win situation. Fruit, rice cakes, dried fruit, organic granola and seeds are all great ways of keeping energy levels high and hunger at bay - allowing you to hold your front of stage spot for the maximum time.
5 Get dancing
The most fun part of being at a festival doubles up as one of the best ways to burn fat and tone muscle. But fear not if you’re less co-ordinated than Ann Widdecombe - moshing arguably requires the least amount of skill, but it uses a ton of energy; there are between 400 - 750 calories burned moshing, so get in that pit! Just watch out for the other fans.
